There are a number of businesses based in Shebbear and Buckland Filleigh that offer a wide range of accommodation types, from personal and homely bed & breakfast with a local family, B&B in the pub, to self catering Shepherds huts, converted barns and a rather grand mansion house.

We try to keep this list up to date and to include all accommodation providers if the proprietors request it. Please remember to mention where you found the accommodation, when enquiring about a stay in our lovely village.

The Old Shop B&B

The Old Shop B&B used to be the village stores for hundreds of years and can be booked stand alone or as extra accommodation for the apartment Ground floor. Spacious double bedroom with separate toilet and wetroom shower with bespoke wash hand basin. Oil filled radiator as well as central heating to bedroom radiator and en-suite towel rail. all fuel and power, bed linen and towels included.

Prices quoted are for the room rate per night, not per person. A tasty meat free breakfast is available at extra cost if required.

Tyrella, two double bedroom holiday apartment is an ideal touring base for your country holiday. In the heart of Shebbear, a pretty North Devon village, our self catering apartment is the perfect base to explore this delightful area. Great for a weekend break too.

For a tranquil escape away from it all, Grascott Cottage is the perfect choice. This cosy, welcoming dog-friendly escape is nestled within 212 acres of idyllic award-winning forest, woodland and wildflower meadow, which you’re more than welcome to explore during your stay.

Step inside to discover the charming interiors, from the lovely hand-made kitchen and living space.

You’ll find three lovely bedrooms at Grascott Cottage, some with stunning views across the wonderful forest and over to Dartmoor. Bedroom one has a king-size double bed, with external stone steps to the enclosed garden, bedroom two has a ‘zip and link’ bed, which can either be made up as a king-size double or twin beds, and bedroom three has twin beds, perfect for children.

Grascott House

Make your way to the wonderfully tranquil award-winning forest and countryside, where you will find Grascott House; a magical getaway with more than 200 almost uninhabited acres to explore, including woodland, wildflower meadows and three small lakes. Approached by a mile long lane, this welcoming detached house offers a truly rural idyll.

The delightful kitchen/dining-room brings generations together; the designated chefs can create delicious feasts, children can access the exciting shared games-room, or you can simply sit back and snuggle up by the wood-burner.

There are five wonderful bedrooms; bedroom one and two are super-king rooms, bedroom three and four are twin rooms, and bedroom five has cute bunk-beds, which the children will love!

Grenlecotte Cottage

The charming interiors are sure to delight you. Step inside to find the beautiful, bespoke cottage kitchen and dining space, with double doors leading out to the sunny garden. The spacious and welcoming sitting-room, with its cosy wood-burner and comfortable sofas, is just perfect for those peaceful evenings in.

The cosy bedrooms have wonderful views over the enclosed garden, across the award-winning forest towards Dartmoor. Bedroom one is a beautiful super-king room, and bedroom two is a pretty twin or super-king room, you choose! Outside there is access to a shared games-room and play equipment, sure to keep you entertained for hours. And of course, the lovely garden is an idyllic spot to soak up the sunshine and enjoy meals al fresco. If you’re looking to get away from it all, then look no further.

Forest View

This amazing reverse level house offers you the most incredible views from its extremely lavish raised decked area. Sit back and relax on the comfy patio furniture with a glass of something tasty in hand and soak up those views. Dining and socialising al fresco in this amazing spot is a real treat.

Forest View is located within 212 acres of woodland which is also home to Grascott House (2375), Grenlecotte Cottage (1604) and Grascott Cottage (1241). This is the perfect location for those truly wishing to escape it all and unwind. Taking a stroll through this beautiful countryside via the many forest walks is a must, especially for your four-legged friend(s). The beauty and splendour of the wildlife and wildflower meadows which you will encounter is unrivalled. So, don your walking boots and head out in any direction, you won’t be disappointed.

The owner can also offer a ‘pop-up’ fenced paddock for your dogs to enjoy. Please let us know at the time of booking so this can be arranged.

Berry Barns

At Berry Barns you’ll receive a warm welcome from a relaxed, friendly family. The Shippen and Lakeside Lodge are part of our 23 acre small holding. You’ll have the chance to see our Black welsh mountain sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, pigs and other animals depending on the time of year.

We are keen on the natural things in life and have used the warmth of local stone and reclaimed oak in the Shippen, whilst going modern and carbon neutral [meaning free energy] in the Lodge with under floor heating, air source heat pump and p.v. solar panels.

Both properties are clean and bright. The Shippen has been superbly renovated in traditional style, whilst the Lodge is modern but still traditional with natural oak floors both have all the little luxuries and necessities that will give you complete peace of mind.

John is a keen and knowledgeable angler, and if you want to try a bit of fishing there are two purpose built lakes where you can enjoy the quiet of the countryside with the brooding backdrop of the Dartmoor tors.
